What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture treatment is a treatment method that is applied to certain parts of the body and muscles by inserting special needles of very fine structure  that are completely specific to the person and disease of the person. This treatment method was discovered by Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been developed by Western Medicine today and has reached the form of 'Western Medical Acupuncture'. Western Medical Acupuncture is a cure specific to diseases and patients, which is concentrated on the 'Dry Needling' treatment targeting the affected muscles as well as the acupuncture points determined by the traditional Chinese medicine, and, during which electro acupuncture device is also commonly used besides needling by hands. Acupuncture procedures, applied by  Evren Kul Panza, MD who is a Physical Treatment and Rehabilitation Specialist at our hospital, are based on Western acupuncture, which is widely used especially in England, Europe, America, and even the Far East.

Dry Needle Therapy with Acupuncture

The 'dry needle treatment', which is included in acupuncture treatment, is applied to deeper areas and targeted muscles by the same type of acupuncture needles and it is aimed to relax the chronic muscle contractions. The needles used in acupuncture are very fine, about 0.3 mm thickness, and do not cause significant pain. The type, fineness and length of the needles may vary depending on the application area.
